Vorm salvages Swansea draw

Swansea - Newly promoted Swansea had goalkeeper Michel Vorm to thank for saving a penalty and ensuring his side picked up its first point of the season with a goalless draw against Wigan.

In the first Premier League match ever to be held outside of England, the Welsh side enjoyed the better of the first half but Wigan, under former Swansea manager Roberto Martinez, improved after the break.

In a flurry of activity, Jordi Gomez hit the post from 25 yards (meters) before Victor Moses fired a shot against the bar and from the rebound, Ashley Williams fouled Gomez to give the visitors a 73rd-minute penalty.

Vorm saved Ben Watson's spot kick to salvage a point for the hosts, who are still waiting to score their first goal of the season after a 4-0 loss at Manchester City in their opener.
