Cape Town - With the start of the English Premiership just days away, Louis van Gaal has dropped a major hint that Manchester United is in need a quality winger.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is concerned that his side does not have a winger like Ronaldo or Angel Di Maria.
"At this moment, we have five No.9s and four No.10s – and we don’t have wingers to give us attacking width." said van Gaal.
After talks with PSG broke down, Angel Di Maria may yet make a move away from Real Madrid after Louis van Gaal singled out the Argentine when talking about the position where he may look to strengthen. "We don't have wingers of the highest level, like Ronaldo or Di Maria or somebody like that," said the Dutch manager.
With vice-chairman Ed Woodward again confirming that the club has the funds to break the club record for spending, Di Maria may be brought in by van Gaal.
United have also been linked with Fiorentina’s Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado but with Barcelona spending freely in this window, Manchester United look set to lose out on that target.
