United's Otamendi 'bid' in jeopardy

Cape town - Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi is reportedly being linked with a possible summer switch to Real Madrid.

The Daily Star report that Real Madrid have held talks with the Valencia defender.

Otamendi has been widely tipped to join his Argentina national teammates Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo at Manchester United but a move to the Santiago Bernebeu may prove difficult to turn down.

Valencia are holding out for an offer of £35 million but Manchester United value the centre-back at £25 million.

Otamendi is currently on international duty with La Albiceleste in Chile.
