United want Anderson out

Cape Town - Manchester United are exploring the idea of paying their Brazilian midfielder Anderson out of his current deal at the club.

Anderson has made just two appearances for the club this season and now faces the possibility of becoming a free agent in January according to the Telegraph.

The Brazilian midfielder was told he could leave the club in the summer but failed to find a suitor and the Old Trafford club are considering cancelling his contract which expires in June.

Serie A club Fiorentina passed up the opportunity to sign Anderson following his short term loan move last season.

The midfielder currently earns £60 000-a-week and it would cost Manchester United up to £1.4 million to ensure he leaves in January.

It seems certain that if Anderson does not find a new club during the January transfer window then he will be shown the door by the United executives.

Anderson is now into his eighth season at Old Trafford following a £20 million move from Porto.

The midfielder has made over 180 appearances for the Red Devils and has won the Champions League and four English Premiership titles in his time in Manchester.
