United to make a move for Coutinho

Cape Town - Manchester United are looking to add another striker to their squad after inquiring about Brazilian youngster Douglas Coutinho.

According to the Dailymail, the Red Devils have been monitoring the 20-year-old for quite some time and are reportedly meeting with the player’s representatives next week.

It has been revealed that Douglas, who plies his trade for Atletico Paranaense, is worth around £7.5m.

Coutinho has netted seven times for Paranaense in 25 appearances and if United are serious about securing his services the striker’s representative Taciano Pimenta confirms that there has been interest.

“I had a query about interest and Manchester United.

“Obviously if they want to buy, the interest to sell is there. I go to see if it’s official,” said Pimenta.

AS Monaco and Atletico Madrid have been unveiled as admirers of the striker who is contracted to the Brazilian club until 2017.
