Cape Town - Manchester United will step up their chase to bring Spanish international star Sergio Ramos to Old Trafford this summer.
Manchester Evening News report that the Red Devils will make a second bid to sign Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos.
Last week, the English giants bid for the 128-capped defender was rejected but reports in England suggest that United's pursuit of Ramos will continue this week.
Real Madrid snubbed the initial £28.37 million (€40 million) offer for Ramos and will now be tested with a fresh £35.5 million offer for their veteran defender.
Ramos is reportedly unhappy with his treatment by club officials and has asked to be let go this summer.
Manchester United are willing to increase Ramos' £4m-a-year wages to around £7.8m to tempt the Spanish international into a move this summer.
The 29-year-old defender signed for Los Blancos as a teenager from Sevilla and has become a club legend.
In 10 seasons at Madrid, Ramos has won 10 trophies and represented the team on 455 occasions.
