United fail in bid for Muller

Cape Town - Manchester United have made a record £69.5 million bid for Bayern Munich's star forward, Thomas Muller.

ESPN report that Bayern Munich have rejected the offer from the Premier League giants.

The 25-year-old star has been on the radar for the Old Trafford club but Muller will not be leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.

Reports surfaced that in Germany that the Red Devils had an offer of £57 million snubbed by Bayern last season before Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria joined the club in a move worth £59.7 million.

Following Bastian Schweinsteiger's high-profile exit from the German champions, the club's CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge insisted no other player would join Schweinsteiger at Manchester United.

Muller is considered to be one of the brightest talents in world football with the 2014 World Cup winner is closing in on 200 caps for Bayern Munich and has over 60 caps with the senior German side.
