United edge closer to Cuadrado deal

Cape Town - Colombia's Soccer World Cup star Juan Cuadrado has edged closer to a move to English Premiership club Manchester United.

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United and not Barcelona is the likely target for the Fiorentina star Cuadrado.

The player's agent revealed that despite initial contact with the Catalan giants, there is no negotiations ongoing with Barcelona.

Barcelona were said to put be off by the £40 million fee slapped on the star player.

Reports suggest that Manchester United have agreed a fee in the region of £29 million plus incentives  based on how the Colombian performs this season.

Barcelona are not out of the running for Cuadrado's signature as the player prefers a move to Spain rather than England.

Cuadrado was a top performer in Brazil and ended the World Cup with one goal and four assists.
