Cape Town - Reports have emerged linking Manchester United with a £30 million bid for an ex-Chelsea midfielder.

The Daily Express report that Kevin De Bruyne is wanted by Manchester United.

The 23-year-old playmaker left Chelsea in the January 2014 transfer window but could be making a return to England's top-flight after the player revealed "my biggest ambition is to come out for a big European club. One I can win trophies with. As much trophies as possible."

De Bruyne is having a stellar season and admits he is happy to stay at Wolfsburg but it would appear that the club must be able to match his ambitions.

The former Chelsea player has scored 11 goals and contributed another 16 assists this season.

"I feel very much at home with VfL Wolfsburg in this very moment.

"I am able to sign a new contract with Wolfsburg. Life in football can be fast moving." said De Bruyne.
