Cape Town - Manchester United are targeting Real Madrid Raphael Varane to bolster their defence, according to reports.

According to talkSPORT, Manchester United have made an enquiry to Real Madrid over the availability of Varane.

The 22-year-old French international struggled to cement his place in the Los Blancos starting lineup and could be on his way to Old Trafford, according to AS.

Manchester United will have to offer in excess of £20 million for Varane, who has five years left on his current deal.
