Cape Town - Burnley sank to the bottom of the Premier League after losing 1-0 at Everton on Saturday, with midfielder Ashley Barnes compounding the team's struggles by being sent off.

Barnes was first booked for a wild swipe at James McCarthy as the Everton midfielder was racing away from him midway through the half. Referee Mike Jones allowed play to continue before returning to show a yellow card.
