Tiote is a wanted man

Cape Town - Ivory Coast midfielder Cheick Tiote is being targeted by three clubs as Newcastle brace themselves for offers for their star midfielder.

The Chronicle report that Lokomotiv Moscow are the latest club to make enquiries into Tiote's availability.

Reports in Russia indicate that Lokomotiv Moscow want to bring in Tiote as the club fear they may lose Lassana Diarra.

Tiote is valued at £8 million and Lokomotiv Moscow were ready to make an initial offer of half that amount which was rejected by Newcastle.

Queens Park Rangers are also interested in the midfielder, known for hard tackles and excellent defensive work.

Arsenal were reportedly keen on Tiote after failing to lure a host of other targets to the Emirates.

Newcastle may be unwilling to sell to Arsenal again this season after letting French defender Mathieu Debuchy leave for London.
