Sturridge hoping for swift recovery

Cape Town - Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is hoping to make a swift recovery after suffering from a thigh injury while on international duty for England.

Sturridge was forced to pull out of Roy Hodgson's team after injuring his thigh during training with the national side on Friday.

According to the Mirror, the striker has been receiving treatment at Melwood and Liverpool hope to know the extent of the problem later today.

Sturridge is positive about the situation and posted on his Instagram account that he'll "Be back soon".

With Aston Villa at home on Saturday and a clash with Ludogorets in their first Champions League game on Tuesday, Reds boss Brendan Rodger will be eager for the star striker to return as soon as possible.

Rodgers has, however, been boosted by the return of Adam Lallana from knee injury and has other options in Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini if need be.
