Stoke seal Adam deal

London - Stoke City completed the signing of midfielder Charlie Adam from Liverpool on a four-year contract on Friday.

The Scotland international has moved for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of 4 million pounds (6.4 million dollars).

"I'm delighted to be here and to be given the opportunity to work with the club, the manager (Tony Pulis) and the players," Adam told the club website.

"This club's on the up and it's great to be a part of it. I hope I can help them to improve upon the success which has been achieved over the past few years.

"Hopefully, we can have a successful time together. I can do this club proud and I'm looking forward to the chance of playing in front of their passionate supporters."

Adam's departure from Anfield carries on Brendan Rodgers's reshaping of the squad. Andy Carroll was loaned out to West Ham United, while Rodgers tried to offload Jordan Henderson to Fulham.
