London - Sunderland defender Titus Bramble was charged with sexual assault and urinating in a public place on Friday, authorities confirmed.
The 30-year-old defender was hit with two counts of sexual assault stemming from an incident last month.
Bramble, an England under-21 international, started his career at hometown club Ipswich before moving to Sunderland's rivals Newcastle, where he spent five years before a three-season spell at Wigan.
He joined Sunderland last year for an undisclosed fee.
