Cape Town - Forgotten winger Scott Sinclair looks set to complete a loan move to English Premiership strugglers Aston
Villa.
Sky Sports report that Sinclair has already completed a medical ahead of the move but is yet to reach an agreement over personal terms.
Sinclair was rising to the top of his game with Swansea City before sealing a move to big-spending Manchester City in 2012.
After failing to break into the City first-team Sinclair was sent out on loan to West Bromwich Albion last season. He made just 11 appearances for the Baggies.
Sinclair has now been given the opportunity to rekindle his career although Aston Villa are unable to make any January move permanent.
The English winger's valuation has dropped to just £3.5m but will most likely join Villa on loan until the end of the season before making his switch away from the Etihad permanent.
Sinclair will be Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert's second signing of the January window, following Carles Gil's arrival from La Liga side Valencia.
Aston Villa travel to London on Sunday to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Villians will need to kick-start their English Premiership survival bid as they sit just three points off the relegation zone.
The match kicks off at 15:30.
