Shaqiri has EPL suitors

Cape Town - Bayern Munich are bracing themselves for a bidding war for the transfer of Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Daily Star report that the £20 million-rated winger is wanted by a trio of leading English Premiership clubs including Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

The 23-year-old winger, who excelled with Switzerland at the Soccer World Cup in Brazil, has been unable to force his way into Pep Guardiola's star-studded lineup and is now being linked with a move away from the Bundesliga.

Chelsea will face competition from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for his signature and it appears that Shaqiri will not remain in Germany after Schalke pulled out of the race to sign the talented winger.

Shaqiri signed for Bayern Munich from Swiss club Basel in February 2012 for a fee in the region of  €11.6 million.

Despite not being a first team regular, the tricky winger has scored an impressive 17 goals (77 appearances) in all competitions for Bayern Munich.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
