Salah free to go on Chelsea tour

Cape Town - Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah has traveled to Austria for the club's pre-season tour after the Egyptian Prime Minister resolve his enrollment issue.

According to the Independent, the Egyptian midfielder was expected to return to Egypt after being called up for military service.

It took the intervention of the Egyptian Prime Minister to resolve the player's issue according to reports.

Salah’s future at Stamford Bridge appeared to be in the balance on Saturday after it appeared Salah could be forced to return to his homeland and join the army, this meant he was unable to travel abroad until completing his service.

A meeting to discuss Salah's position was held between  Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, the Minister of Higher Education and the Egyptian national manager Shawky Gharib, where the trio concluded that Salah will no longer have to return home to enrol in the country's armed forces.

Salah joined from FC Basel for around £11 million in January this year.
