Cape Town - Brendan Rodgers has praised Bournemouth after his Liverpool team
knocked them out of the Capital One Cup with a 3-1 win at Goldsands
Stadium.
The high-fliying Cherries are currently top of the Championship table, level on points with Middleborough but were unable to cause an upset against a Reds' side that have been out of sorts in recent weeks.
Goals from Raheem Sterling and Lazar Markovic may have beaten them, but Rodgeres was full of praise for his opponents and believes they have a bright future under manager Eddie Howe.
"They are a wonderful team and have got an outstanding young manager," Football411 quotes Rodgers as saying. "They can go on and get promoted. They thoroughly deserve it.
"So good luck to them. Hopefully they can keep going. I think they can get promoted."
