Richardson targets Reds win

Cape Town - Kieran Richardson is confident Aston Villa can maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they take on Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.

According to Sky Sports, the ex-Fulham player insists that Villa face no fear going into Saturday's game and are full of confidence given their start to the new campaign.

“We are full of confidence at the moment and playing well," said Richardson.

"We look solid so I don’t see why we can’t go there and cause an upset.

“We have the players to do that. Not everyone expects us to win so there is no pressure and if we can get a result it would be a great thing.”

Liverpool have a few headaches of their own, after the international break saw both striker Daniel Sturridge and midfielder Jordan Henderson suffer injuries while on England duty.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
