Cape Town - Liverpool are reportedly exploring the idea of recalling striker
Divock Origi from his loan spell at Lille after a good start to the
Ligue 1 season.
The Reds bought the Belgium international from Les Dogues for around £9.8 million after he impressed for his country at the World Cup.
However, as part of the deal with Lille it was agreed that the 19-year-old would return to Stade Pierre-Mauroy on a season-long loan.
Origi has made a terrific start to the campaign, scoring three goals in seven league appearances to lead his side in scoring, while also making an impact on international duty.
Much has been made of Liverpool's impotence in front of goal this term, with Daniel Sturridge missing seven games through injury and Mario Balotelli still finding his feet on Merseyside.
And manager Brendan Rodgers believes the club already have a solution to their problems in Origi, but will have to convince Lille to part ways with their star man halfway through his loan spell.
"We took a player in Divock Origi who we believe will be world class and we'll get him in the summer," Rodgers said in a recent interview.
"Now he is a top player. He has everything: the speed, the profile and so on and he (could) play (for Liverpool) now.
"Our deal was that we couldn't bring him in now. That was unfortunate because he can run in behind (the defence), he can keep the ball, he can press and he can run but that (Origi staying with Lille) was part of the deal."
