Reds look to fill Suarez void

Cape Town - Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for a replacement for Luis Suarez and reports suggest Edinson Cavani could be it.

The Reds face competition from Arsenal to land the Paris Saint-Germain striker, who has heard proposals from both sides.

“There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal,” Cavani's agent, Claudio Annelluci said.

“He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame, he just wants to be happy playing football.”

Cavani would fit in well at Liverpool as he suits the Reds' particular style of play.

The Merseyside club is, on the other hand, also interested in Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. They were hoping to sign him on loan for a year, but the player has stated that he would rather move to Real Madrid, following in the footsteps of his Colombian international teammate James Rodriguez who recently moved to the Bernabeu from Monaco.
