Johannesburg - Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has quashed talk of a possible move for Everton star Steven Pienaar.
Spurs have been heavily linked with the Bafana Bafana star of late, with a move expected to go through before the start of the new Premier League season.
However, Redknapp has moved quickly to silence the rumours, telling talkSPORT: "I like Pienaar, don't get me wrong. But there is nothing there. I wouldn't see that as being a real goer."
Meanwhile, Redknapp has confirmed that Tottenham are still hoping to sign Joe Cole.
The England international departed Chelsea at the end of last season and Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs to have been credited with an interest in the player.
Redknapp has revealed that Spurs chairperson Daniel Levy is in talks with the midfielder's representatives and a deal could be concluded for Cole to move to White Hart Lane.
"We're interested in Joe (Cole)," Redknapp said.
"I know Daniel (Levy) was talking to his people and we're interested. If the chairman can pull a deal off I'd love to have him at Tottenham.
"But it all comes down to if we can do a deal. I don't get involved in the financial side; the chairman can do that with Joe's people. Hopefully there is a deal that can be done because we would love him at White Hart Lane."
