Ramos or bust for United

Cape Town - Manchester United will not be interested in signing another defender if they fail to bring Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos to the club this summer.

Manchester Evening News reports that Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi is not on the club's transfer list.

Manchester United's chances of signing Ramos appear to diminish every day while the Manchester-based newspaper report that the Red Devils hold no interest in Otamendi.

The 27-year-old Argentina centre back has been linked with the club since Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels rejected the advances of Manchester United earlier in the season but these reports have been deemed false.

Otamendi joined Valencia in February 2014 for €12 million from FC Porto.

On Tuesday, Sport24 reported that Sergio Ramos was inching closer to signing a new contract at Real Madrid after the club rejected two offers from Manchester United.
