Johannesburg - Tottenham's Steven Pienaar has admitted it will be difficult to play against his former club Everton for the first time, but is up for the challenge.
The South Africa international was at Goodison Park for four years before making the move to White Hart Lane in January.
The industrious midfielder is now preparing to clash with his former employers in their Premier League season opener on 13 August.
He told Tottenham's official website: "It will be the first time I've faced Everton since moving to Spurs, I'm looking forward to it and I hope we take all three points to get a positive start to the season.
"It's always difficult when you face your old club but you have to stay focused.
"It's a game that will test you mentally because you know all the players, the staff and what that club is all about.
"It's the first game of the season and our supporters will want us to go all-out, especially at home.
"For us though, the key is to be patient, open them up and when we do, make sure we take our chances."
