Johannesburg - Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar has revealed his delight following the club's come-from-behind victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
Spurs managed to turn a one-goal deficit around and defeat the Black Cats thanks to goals from Michael Dawson and Niko Kranjcar.
The Stadium of Light is always a difficult ground to play at for opposition sides and Pienaar believes Spurs' strong team spirit is what carried them through.
"We have showed that we have real character," the Bafana Bafana star told the club's official website.
"Sunderland is always a difficult place to play. They have great support that get right behind their team and that was the case in the first 20 minutes.
"They went ahead early on, put us under a lot of pressure and to recover from that makes the win even better.
"You have to dig in and sometimes you can't always play pretty football. We have showed we can fight and come from behind.
"We stuck to our task, fought hard and made sure we got the three points. It was another vital win for us."
