Phelan blames LVG for injuries

Cape Town - Manchester United have had an injury laden season so far, with Angel Di Maria, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw the latest players to be out of action.

And, according to Football411, former Red Devils assistant manager Mike Phelan believes the cause of the problem is the change in manager.

"I think Manchester United changed their thoughts on the fitness regime, they looked at it a little bit differently." Phelan told the International Business Times. "They've brought in new people with a different way of doing things."

According to Sir Alex’s former assistant the change in management may be the cause of Utd’s injury woes. "They've brought in new people with a different way of doing things."

Despite the concerns for player fitness, Phelan thinks that Van Gaal will be able to sort the problem out. "The different styles of coaching, of managing, player requirements... you build that up through experience of working with players. It's just a case of maybe understanding the specific requirements of players, individual players, where they need to be at certain times in order to perform. He's got enough staff there to sort that out."
