PSG offer just £28.5m for Di Maria

Cape Town - Manchester United have been offered a return of less than half of their investment on winger Ángel Di María.

Paris St Germain have made an official £28.5 million bid to sign Di María, according to the Guardian.

Di Maria signed for Manchester United last season from Real Madrid for a Premier League record fee of £59.7 million and despite the remarkably low offer from the French champions, the English newspaper believe the two European giants are "in advanced negotiations" for Di Maria's transfer.

The newspaper also states that "Di Maria's location continues to be unknown" after the 27-year-old failed to arrive in North America for the English club's pre-season tour.

Despite wanting to keep Di Maria at the club, manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly agreed to allow Di Maria to quit the Red Devils at the player's request

Barcelona forward Pedro has been linked with a move to replace Di Maria.

Pedro would be Manchester United's sixth summer signing after the arrivals of Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and Sergio Romero.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
