Cape Town - Paris Saint-Germain have recently given up on their pursuit of Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria after admitting that the Spanish club's asking price was ''too expensive''.
Still eager to bolster their attacking options, however, PSG are now considering making a bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. According to The Metro, PSG have discussed a trade with the England international.
"The only problem was that you can never play Rooney on the right as you do with [Edinson] Cavani", French journalist Laurent Perrin, speaking on behalf of the club, said.
"So either we change the system, but, Laurent Blanc actually doesn’t want either of them on the right and prefers Lucas".
PSG are apparently also after Chelsea's Andre Schurrle, who enjoyed a very successful World Cup campaign with Germany last month, as an alternative if the Rooney bid falls through.
