PSG admit Di Maria interest

Cape Town - Former Manchester United defender and current Paris Saint-Germain manager, Laurent Blanc, is interested in signing Angel Di Maria.

The Ligue 1 giants have made their interest known in attempting to sign the Manchester United star, reports espnfc.com.

"We have our priorities," Blanc told French newspaper L'Equipe.

Blanc added that to improve his side, the club must target top players who many not be easy to sign before he confirmed his interest in Manchester United' Argentine star.

"Di Maria, he's good. We have more freedom, but it remains a difficult project for us because we're not alone in wanting him. When you see the financial power of the English clubs, they are attacking everyone. Competition is very, very tough.

"Don't forget, Manchester United paid a fortune to sign him. For us to work effectively, we have to think of other solutions. We must be proactive."

A deal for Di Maria is likely to cost PSG at least £45 million, a sum which is almost £15 million less than the Red Devils paid to sign Di Maria from Real Madrid.

Di Maria is currently recovering from an injury he suffered during the Copa America final against Chile.

The creative forward has been given extra holiday time by his Premier League club, who are currently in the US on their pre-season tour.
