London - Stoke City midfielder Steven Nzonzi has had the red card he was shown in his side's 3-3 draw with Southampton on Saturday rescinded, the Independent Regulatory Commission announced on Wednesday.
The Frenchman was sent off after apparently stamping on Saints midfielder Jack Cork in the English Premier League game at the Britannia Stadium but Stoke coach Tony Pulis criticised the decision and the club later appealed.
The Independent Regulatory Commission subsequently reviewed referee Mark Clattenburg's decision and a claim of wrongful dismissal was upheld, meaning that Nzonzi's three-match suspension has been quashed.
