No loan extension for Henry

London - Thierry Henry is heading back to the New York Red Bulls on time after all.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger considered trying to extend the former France striker's two-month loan from Major League Soccer by two weeks but says that won't now happen.

Wenger says "I would have loved Thierry to stay for two more weeks but he has to go back. It's only fair on New York."

Henry has only next weekend's English Premiership game at Sunderland and a February 15 Champions League match at AC Milan left before returning to New York on February 16.

Henry has scored twice in five substitute appearances during his second spell with Arsenal to extend his club-record haul to 228.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
