No Schalke interest in Podolski

Cape Town - Schalke are not interested in attempting to bring either Andre Schurrle or Lukas Podolski to Gelsenkirchen in the January transfer window.

According to the London Evening Standard, if Andre Schurrle or Lukas Podolski leave Chelsea or Arsenal it will not be to join Schalke.

Schurrle is being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge with both Schalke and Dortmund considered options for the World Cup winner.

Podolski is another Germany international being linked with an English Premiership exit but Schalke's director of sport Horst Heldt has poured cold water on any Schalke bid for either of the two forwards.

"We're not considering Andre Schurrle at all," he said in Sport Bild magazine.

"And the same goes for Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski."
