Newcastle, Reading draw

Reading - Newcastle striker Demba Ba extended his rich run of form Saturday, scoring twice as Newcastle drew 2-2 with Reading in the Premier League at the Madejski Stadium.

Newly promoted Reading, which is still looking for its first league win of the season, started the brighter of the sides as Jimmy Kebe opened the scoring in the 58th minute when he shot from the edge of the penalty box into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Ba pulled Newcastle even when he turned in a pass by Cheick Tiote from close range a minute later.

Reading hit back quickly with Noel Hunt heading in from inside the penalty area in the 62nd, but Ba scored his second equalizer of the game - his sixth goal in six matches - when he headed in a ball from Shane Ferguson in the 83rd to secure a share of the points for the visitors.
