Cape Town - Gary Neville believes Manchester United may yet rue the decision to allow Danny Welbeck to leave the club this summer.
talkSPORT report that former United star Gary Neville has lashed out at the club over the sale of Danny Welbeck.
Manchester United sold forward Danny Welbeck to rivals Arsenal for "just" £16 million. Welbeck sealed a deadline day move to rivals Arsenal after failing to impress Louis van Gaal.
Neville has now spoken out on the club's decision to let the former Manchester United academy player go.
"I can’t work it out [why Manchester United sold Welbeck].
After all the prices I’ve seen paid this summer and, obviously I've been
working with him the last week, I'm thinking how is it just £16million?" asked Neville.
"There’s been right-backs and left-backs galore who have been bought for £15million this summer. How have they got him for £16million?
"I can’t work it out to this day, it’s a strange one. It really does feel strange that it's a centre forward and actually it’s helped out a competitor, someone who will be vying for those third and four places with United this season.
"I’m struggling to understand the logic behind the deal
in two or three ways really."
Welbeck is in line to make his debut for Arsenal when they host Manchester City at the Emirates on Saturday, September 13 at 13:45.
