Moyes wants Pienaar at Sociedad

Cape Town - Reports in England have linked Everton's Steven Pienaar with a move to the Spanish La Liga to join former boss David Moyes at Real Sociedad.

Pienaar is known to be a favourite of Moyes for his high work-rate and ability on the ball.

Everton are rumoured to be looking to bring in Arsenal's Joel Campbell in the January transfer window, and if successful, 32-year-old Pienaar could be on his way out of Goodison Park to reunite with Moyes at Real Sociedad.

Pienaar is in his fourth spell at Everton having first joined the club in 2007. He has been beset with injuries this campaign and has had to settle for cameo roles off the bench.

Pienaar played 61 times for Bafana Bafana before announcing his international retirement in October 2012.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
