Monk named Manager of the Month

Cape Town - After guiding his Swansea City side to three wins from three games, Garry Monk has been awarded the English Premiership Manager of the Month award for August.

Swansea have been unstoppable so far in the English Premiership under Monk's astute management which has seen the Welsh side rise to second place on the EPL log.

In arguably the upset of the season,so far, the Swans beat Manchester United 2-1 away from home in the season's first match.

Swansea have also beaten Burnley and West Bromwich Albion at the Liberty Stadium, without conceding a goal.

Monk saw off Jose Mourinho for the Manager of the Month award but now faces the Special One's Chelsea on Saturday, September 13.
