Cape Town - Swansea City manager Garry Monk has ruled out the prospect of recalling Spanish forward Michu from loan.

“Nothing’s changed as far as I’m concerned." Monk told Wales Online.

The Swans are set to lose Wilfried Bony for a month in January and reports linked Michu with a move back to the Liberty Stadium but Monk has now dismissed that idea.

Michu is currently on loan with Serie A outfit, Napoli.

"I know he’s struggling with his injury, but communication between the club is nothing about him coming back.

“I will focus on players here. Michu made the decision to try a different challenge which I supported because we have a great relationship. But in terms of this season I’m dealing with the players we have here.”

Swansea City host Crystal Palace on Saturday. The two teams will clash at the Liberty Stadium at 17:00.
