Barcelona's most coveted player, Lionel Messi, gave his strongest hint yet he could consider leaving Barcelona, saying in an interview published in Ole newspaper on Tuesday "things can change a lot in soccer".

But according to the Daily Mail, Lionel Messi's father, Jorge, has attempted to play down the exit rumours.

In the same interview Messi siad: "sometimes not everything happens in the way you would like' and said the situation was 'complicated'."

Messi's father has denied that his son is thinking about leaving. Jorge Messi told Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia: "The thought is to stay here (in Barcelona),".

"But as people read between the lines there is exaggeration," added Messi's father.

British newspapers are already speculating that Manchester United will offer £100 million for the Argentinian's services.
