Martinez eyes a new striker

Cape Town - Roberto Martinez is interested in bringing in one more striker to Goodison Park before the close of the transfer window.

The Times report that Everton are in the market to bring in a forward in order to provide the side with more options.

Samuel Eto'o, linked with a move to Liverpool, is a potential target for Martinez, who wants to provide Everton with an alternative option to starting Romelu Lukaku every week.

Danny Welbeck has reportedly been told that he can leave Old Trafford and Martinez is considering making a bid for the Manchester United striker.

Welbeck has failed to retain a regular spot in the Red Devils' starting lineup and could be tempted with a move to Everton.

Romelu Lukaku limped off during the second half of Everton's 2-2 draw with Arsenal which may force the Everton boss into making a late move in the transfer market.
