Cape Town - Liverpool is on the brink on signing Benfica winger, Lazar Markovic. The Serbian has reportedly completed his medical at Melwood ahead of his £20m transfer to the Merseyside club.
Lazar has already thanked and bid farewell to the Benfica fans and according to Sky Sports reporter, Vinny O'Conner, he is all set to become Liverpool's fourth Summer signing. He will join the likes of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can all of whom have already signed for the Reds.
"It is a deal which could drag into tomorrow but the club are hoping to announce today that he is a Liverpool player,” reported Vinny.
The 20-year-old, who has already been capped 12 times by Serbia, can either provide width on the wing or play in the more conventional striker role- versatility that Liverpool will need with the absence of Luis Suarez next season.
