Cape Town - Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has eased fears over an injury
lay-off by declaring himself fit for Serbia's Euro 2016 qualifier
against Albania on Tuesday.
The off-season signing from Benfica handed the Reds an injury scare when he was forced off after just 25 minutes of his country's 1-1 draw with Armenia at the weekend.
Reports back in his homeland initially suggested that Markovic could be sidelined for up to three weeks with a suspected muscle tear.
However, the 20-year-old has put himself in contention for the midweek international fixture in Belgrade after revealing the injury is not as bad as first feared.
He wrote on Twitter on Monday: "I'm ready for match tomorrow! Injury is not as bad as it seemed at first sight."
