Man. United transfer rumours

Cape Town - Despite having a Netherlands team and their preparations for the World Cup to focus on, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is looking to sign a few players early this summer.

According to the Mirror, van Gaal is eager to raid the Holland side for some young talent and is hoping to bring Feyenoord pair Jordy Clasie and towering centre half Bruno Martins Indi with him, when he arrives at Old Trafford after the World Cup.

The Netherlands national coach has also reportedly lost interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, rather steering his attention towards AS Roma's Kevin Strootman and Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is being eyed in a potential switch.

Van Gaal has indicated that his United team will feature plenty of younger individuals.

"You do not only do it with stars, but also with youth players," said the Dutchman told the Daily Mail.

Van Gaal will have his work cut out for him at Old Trafford as he attempts to rebuild and strengthen a squad that has taken much criticism over the past season.
