Man City owner praises Mancini

Dubai - Manchester City's owner has praised manager Roberto Mancini for following the "right path" toward achieving the club's main objective, winning the Premier League title.

In rare public comments, Sheik Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan told Dubai-based Sport360 daily newspaper that the club's main goal for the season is still within reach, despite City's slim chances of remaining in the Champions League.

Sheik Mansour, a member of the oil-rich Abu Dhabi ruling family, was quoted on Thursday as saying; "We must not forget that our main objective is to win the English Premier League."

City reached the semi-finals of the League Cup after defeating Arsenal 1-0 on Tuesday. The club is five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
