Luiz keen on Di Maria arrival

Cape Town - PSG star David Luiz says it will be "very good" if the French champions can conclude a deal to sign Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria.

The Express report that Luiz is delighted that Di Maria has been strongly linked with a move to Ligue 1.

Speculation has reached fever pitch that Di Maria will quit Manchester United after just one season after the former Real Madrid player failed to arrive at the Premier League's pre-season camp in North America.

"I have heard that he's not on the plane so I cannot say anything," Van Gaal said. "I have heard that he was not on the plane," he reiterated.

Di Maria had been excused from the first part of United's tour after playing in the Copa America.

The Argentine's former colleague at Benfica has voiced his approval ahead of Di Maria's imminent arrival.

"For us it is always very good if we can sign a fantastic player like Di Maria." said Luiz.

"I love him, he is my friend. I played with him at Benfica, when we were young “ before adding “He is fantastic and will be fantastic for the team. He also knows how to play on the defensive side, he is an amazing player."
