Lucas to leave in January?

Cape Town - Liverpool could be tempted to sell Lucas in January amidst reports of interest from Napoli manager Rafael Benitez.

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez could make a January raid on his former club for 27-year-old midfielder Lucas according to theDaily Star.

The Brazilian international has started just two English Premiership games this season and Liverpool could decide to cash in on the midfielder.

Henrique Coelho, the player's agent, said: “Is it possible for Lucas Leiva to leave Liverpool in January? Yes, naturally."

Coelho then added: "Lucas really likes Benitez. After all, the two know each other well.”

Lucas is into his his eighth season on Merseyside but has struggled with various niggling injuries over the past three seasons.
