Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur have tied down France International Hugo Lloris with the goalkeeper signing a new five year deal.
Lloris has curbed speculation that he will leave the club after reports linked the player with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27 year old has been at White Hart Lane since 2012 and made 78 appearances for the club. Lloris is a youth product of CEDAC Cimiez located on the outskirts of Nice. He eventually made the Nice B side making 20 appearances before being promoted to the first team where he excelled in 72 appearances in his hometowns club colours.
In 2008 Lloris reportedly snubbed AC Milan to join seven time Ligue 1 champions, Lyon, where he was awarded Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year for three consecutive seasons.
Hugo said that he spoke with Spurs chairman and is excited about how ambitious the club is about moving forward following a disappointing sixth place league finish last season, missing out on a Champions League spot.
“It’s very important to feel at home at a club and for my family to feel well. I enjoy a great relationship with the Club and the fans. The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino is important as well. I have a good feeling with him. He is also ambitious,” he said to the clubs website.
