Liverpool not giving up on Falcao

Cape Town - Falcao continues to be linked with a move from Monaco with Liverpool not giving hope of signing the star Colombian player.

Real Madrid face stiff competition from Liverpool and Juventus in the race to sign Falcao.

The Daily Mail report that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is not willing to give up on the chance to make Falcao his "marquee" signing of the summer.

Juventus are also interested in signing Falcao on a loan deal but would need to sell Spanish striker Fernando Llorente before any deal for Falcao can be done. Reports suggest that the Spanish striker is not interested in leaving Turin with Valencia being sounded out over a potential move for the striker.

Real Madrid are still thought to be in pole position but only if a deal for Angel Di Maria can done. Di Maria currently takes up a non-EU player spot on the Real Madrid roster and would need to depart if Falcao is going to be brought in.

Liverpool are hoping to take advantage of Juventus and Real Madrid's position by moving for the player before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Samuel Eto'o may join the Anfield club on a one year deal if the Reds cannot tempt Falcao into making the move to England.
