Liverpool fans' wish list

Cape Town - Liverpool have a void to fill and coach Brendon Rodgers needs a new strike partner for Daniel Sturridge, although they have secured the services of veteran forward, Ricky Lambert.

Luis Suarez bit his way out of Anfield and this time Barcelona were the ones who tested the Reds' resolve of holding onto their star striker.

Liverpool then confirmed the sale of Suarez for £75m to the Catalan giants last week.

Barcelona got their man and Liverpool got their money.

Along with Lambert, Liverpool have already signed Adam Lallana from Southampton and Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen.

With £75m and 47 days left of the transfer window, Rodgers and The Kop board no doubt have a number of players they would like to bring to Merseyside.

Who can Liverpool lure now that they have Champions League football to play this season?

Sport24 asked - and our readers answered.

Liverpool fans will have come to terms with the fact that Luis Suarez has departed, but they'll no doubt want proven players along with youth to help bring league glory back to Anfield.

Wilfred Bony is a target, but will have to fight it out with Tottenham Hotspur for the Swansea striker - and the Welsh side won’t take less than £25m for the Ivorian.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has reportedly become a £40m target for Rodgers, but he'll have to test Los Blancos on whether they will let go of the French player.

There have been rumours regarding Yaya Toure being a Liverpool target with the midfielder unhappy with life at Manchester City.

Lucas Leiva will be offloaded to make way for the purchase of Dejan Lovren, but Southampton are reluctant to sell, with the player going on a strike in order to make the move happen. He claims his "head is already at Liverpool".

James Rodriguez, the player who lit up the SWC with his six goals, passing and celebrations may prove too expensive and has already set his sights on playing in Spain with Real Madrid. But before that can happen, Los Blancos need to balance their books which they will go a long way to achieving by offloading Angel Di Maria who is poised for a move to PSG.

Borrussia Dortmund's, Marco Reus, is a world class player. The Express has reported that he is annoyed with the fact that Barcelona have chosen Suarez over him. Manchester United have been long admirers of the striker, but Liverpool are now set to make a £45m bid for Dortmund's ace.

Moves that could be announced in a matter of days - or even hours - are that Liverpool will be announcing the signing of Lazar Markovic after the Benfica winger completed his medical with the Merseyside club.

With Iago Aspas moving to Sevilla on a loan move it could pave the way for Spanish full-back Alberto Moreno. If the deal does fall through it is understood that Swansea’s 21-year-old, Ben Davies, is also being considered.

Divock Origi is set to sign with Liverpool, according to the Liverpool Echo
