Liverpool enter race for Vidal

Cape Town - Liverpool are set to join the bidding war for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal with reports suggesting a £42.5 million bid is imminent from the Reds.

The Express reports that the Juventus player will only consider moving to one of Manchester United, Liverpool or Real Madrid.

Juventus continue to insist that Vidal will not be sold unless an enormous bid is received but speculation continues to mount that Vidal will not be playing his football in Turin at the start of te Seria A season.

Reports in Vidal's homeland are now suggesting that Liverpool are ready to hijack Manchester United's bid for the World Cup star.

Liverpool are well set financially to match United's offer of £42.5 million after selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona for almost double that fee.

Real Madrid appear to have fallen out of the race for Vidal after making the mega-money signing of James Rodriguez, which leaves the two arch rivals to fight it out for the midfield general.
